Admission Qualification
For admission to the Polytechnic, both male and female students must meet the qualifications prescribed by the Bangladesh Technical Education Board. See the qualification below:
- A male student has to pass the SSC and equivalent examination with a 3.50 GPA.
- A female student has to pass the SSC and equivalent examination with a 3.50 GPA.
- In mathematics, male students should get 3.50, and female students should get 3.00.
Admission Quota
- 20% quota for female students.
- 15% quota for SSC (vocational).
- 2% quota for the minor ethnic groups.
- 5% for the freedom fighters.
- 2% for children of officials or employees who are working in the Ministry of Expatriates.
Class Schedule
- Classes on the first shift start at 8.00 a.m. and end at 12.00-1.00 p.m.
- Classes in the second shift start at 2.00 pm and end at 6.00 pm.
Scholarship
Poor students get a stipend of 4800 TK. per semester. Apart from this, the students who are at the top of the merit list in each department get 1650 Tk.
Students Hostel
Sherpur Polytechnic Institute has separate hostels for both male and female students. At a very low cost, all the students get the facility to stay and eat in the hostel.
